What a Day

So I started off this morning around the house, fed the dogs and grabbed the keys and headed out the door to pick up the cushions from the lady at Disney, OK. I drove down 82 to 20 and came up the other way to bypass the dam bridge. If you only know one thing about me it's that I hate bridges. So I get the cushions with the exception that the only freaking one I need is not there? I counted 9 and I need 10, so I now need to locate the missing cushion. It can only be 1 of 4 places. I left Disney and traveled back to Ketchum to our boat, it was so dam hot out, I kicked the AC on and started removing the cushions from the SUV to the boat, I got attacked by a bee, and swatted him down with a cushion. Back in the boat I placed all the cushions in the correct places and I feel that the side cushions will just be in the way, I will consult with Kimberli on the matter later. I packed my stuff up and jumped in the car to head back to Tulsa, stopped for gas and realized I left or lost all of my money at home. I was 40 miles to empty and had to call someone to give me their credit card info over the phone to put gas in my car.

New instruments

I got the go ahead to spend a little money on new gauges, purchased off of eBay and I think I got one he'll of a deal on them. Datamarine Link 5000, full set- wind, speed, and depth tranducers that match our old units so no new holes in the hull. The gauges are square so I will need to figure what to do to install them. Maybe a thin stainless panel? The units have a helm station (3) gauges, forward gauges (4) and the main unit mounts at the nav. Station. I am really stoked to go up the mast and install the tranducer, it's only 60' up.

Fabric is in, new design

We got the fabric in the other day and we checked on our pricing with the seamstress at Grand. Holy cow she was out of the park, so we have again changed the provider for the cushions. We are replacing the foam and everything will be new so I gave JSI a call. Jane has been a great person to work with we made the deposit and have a design down. I now need to go and measure the old cushions and take them back to the boat untill the new cushions come in the mail- 6 weeks.

Genoa Cleaned

Took the genoa off of the boat a month ag and cleaned it with Spencer the other day. It cleaned up good and is still in great shape with the exception of some thread at the cover.



I am happy of the progress, I also got some new halyards from JSI-----

Another One bites the dust

Saturday we drove ip to the boat and did some more cleaning. Spencer and Kim worked on the rear birth area cleaning and oiling the teak. I removed the line from the AC and ran 4 ducts in the cabin, one in the settee on starboard, one in the v- birth, one in the forward birth going aft, and one in the head, I was happy with the results and it seemed that the interior was cooling better than before. We ran the AC all day long and the new breaker rated at 20 amps worked great. The AC ran all day without tripping. I have the new halyards on board and need to run the new lines. I cleaned the sails again yesterday and refolded them today, I need to get some sail bags that will fit in the rear birth or the wet locker. My main goal right now is to go sailing, have fun and enjoy the boat once in the first year. Time is heading at me like a steam roller as we started in October of 2009.

Man how time flys.

Almost there II

The PS3 is on and I have to post more photos. So back to the boat. I changed out the ac breaker 20 a 20 amp single pole, the 15 amp kept tripping after an hour of running the ac, I felt bad turning the ac back on, the directions to the new ac told me to use a 20 amp breaker, we will see.

Oh, I forgot. We got a new ac for the boat. I went up and the old marine aire didn't turn the blower on, so we pulled the old unit and I installed the new one. We picked out a 16000 btu unit vs the old 12000 btu. The new unit came with a digital thermostat and a remote control, the unit runs off of shore power, and I am going to look into a inverter down the road and use the diesel to charge the battery bank back.




I have run 2 lines to the existing vents and maybe next week I can install 4 more vents in the cabin. It gets cold in the v-birth but the galley stays warm, need more vents.



Here is where I installed the thermostat. The sink had a hole in it and I used some jb weld to fix the leak.

As I sit on the couch I will tell you I had a good productive day catching up on small stuff.



Kim cleaned the bulkhead, when installing the thermostat I found that the bulkhead is only 1/4 plywood veneer, the chainplates are attached to two rods that attach to the TAFG.



What a difference the teak makes in a boat this size. Newer boats are all plastic lama and glass. She is a very pretty boat down below, and not to bad on the outside, another great boat.



The dehumidifier was so hot when we arrived. I left it unplugged.



I removed the mud dobber nest in the stove, about 10 nest.



Here is the rear birth, Gina did her magic in this area. Looks great. The headliner looks great. Just a couple more items to fix.



I still need to get the t-trim to finish the hatches, I may need new gaskets, need to use the old hose test on them.



Mr. C cleaned the table, new this thing would cost a ton.



I cleaned the head, I need to do it again, and again. I took the pump apart to adjust the water just squirting out.



I also cleaned the sink and got the pressure water system working. I need to take a look at the water heater, I hope it's not rusted out, I just need some things to work.



Just the plain old vbirth. Kim took care of this area last year, her first job.



Here is the cabin looking aft, I cleaned out the bilge, and installed a new bilge pump. That was two weeks ago July 5th 2010. Man it rained all week.



Did I mention the floor? Cherokee Woody Boat Works, Ketchum, Ok. Steve Gibson did a great job.



This is the last of the interior shots. I cleaned the outside of the boat on July 5th also, I used our low pressure power washer to do the job.



I still need to fix that darn compass. The small little scuppers in the cockpit suck.
No IOR for this boat.



Cover is still on, I need some sunbrella to make the cover.



The yard broke the cover to the furler, 28 bucks to fix plus my time to take it apart and fix it.



I never had seen the anchor locker, and it has an anchor too.



Chris and Gina purchased new dock lines, Chris C installed the last Saturday.



I ordered new halyards, they will be mailed out Monday.



I adjusted the ac power, it has a bad spot in the line, it needs to be replaced. I am going to slap some duct tape on it when I get the chance.

Almost there

It's been a month or so from my last post, been on the forum asking allot of questions, and working on the boat.



I cleaned up the diesel today, freaking messy job. I don't know where the water went that I cleaned the motor with, there must be some secret bilge.



I also vacuumed the rear compartment and Kim did the front, I then used a floor cleaner to finish the job



Doesn't that floor look great, all 4 of us were at the boat last Saturday, Spencer got stung by a bee, and caught a bass, good size one.



I have more photos but iPhone is dead tired, need to charge and will post more tomorrow.
